Respected VIJAY TV I stand up and salute for your worthy effort
Bringing the living legends and well talented technicians who played a significant role in great compositions of olden era but unnoticed and unknown until VIJAY TV brought them to lime light; is a great endeavor indeed.
I have heard great actors and actress mentioning in TV about technicians who played a key role in certain circumstances. But no channel has to date performed what you guys did yesterday. In the history of cinema and the Tamil songs are concerned; this event to be mile stone and to be carved and recorded in golden letters.
May I suggest it shall be of great extended favour if such great olden but golden artists are asked to perform on the great day but also given some money; so that they remember that what ever they did and struggled for more than 40/50 years have not gone waste.
Now juniors are performing marvelously well and the credit goes to the voice expert and the minute corrections made by judges time to time coupled with encouragement by anchor the guardian angel at all times.
Few of them, for example Shiravan and Alka have developed a matured voice. I remember one of the Chief Guests advised Shiravan not to force it. Because after all it’s all about a case of
1. ‘sella kurakkana thedal’
2. ‘Natural voice’ capable to be a tiny projection of ‘Usha Uthup’ or ‘Susila amma’ or even ‘Manorama aachi’.
3. Great entertainer capable of performing western music with dance
4. Having ability to be a singer at a respectable gallery where audience sits with pin drop silence or a stadium full of Yankee youngsters wearing studs & tattooed body and ready to rock.
Yesterday Mano was busy on songs otherwise he would have made us to laugh several times.
